School Capacity and Assessment of Student’s Learning Level

Pakistan suffers from multiple problems of low learning outcomes and sub-optimal schools, not only as a public sector phenomenon but also in the non-state sector. Whilst government has come up with competencies, student learning outcomes (SLOs) and professional teacher standards the implementation is slow with negligible mechanisms for monitoring and support.

Both public and private education delivery systems schools need a comprehensive capacity assessment program that is school and context based, easy to understand by stakeholders with implementable recommendations and support options for improvement.

ARMEG offers its services to institutions and schools that are affiliated with educational institutions and they want to assess their work and students’ learning abilities to improve the quality of the work.
In order to this ARMEG had facilitated ENGRO for its schools in NARA, Khairpur and IRC for its 30 non-formal schools in Shikarpur which were supported by Save the Children, in order to collect the required data about teaching and learning process of the selected schools

Following procedure was applied:

  • Classroom Observations
  • Interview of teachers, Students and Parents
  • Meetings with community representative’s
  • Student’s and teacher’s tests
