Success Story 1
Khadija Bano
I have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs from many organizations and when I got a call from a friend of mine that there is a Happy SHE cafe open in our area that is inviting women۔
Some of the women we know are going there from Saeedabad. Let’s go and meet them I was already part of the new training program and I had to collect the work of kurochia (crochet) which I give to the women of my neighborhood daily and they put pearls on it and return me in the evening and take their daily wages.
I had some business dealings with these women، So I was avoiding but at the insistence of my friend Shazia I came ۔ Since then there has been no activity at Happy SHE cafe that I have not attended۔
I was so inspired by this thought behind that I decided to dedicate the upper portion of my house for a similar activity for women of the Musharraf colony and to disseminate the same message about peace in my area (Musharraf Colony).
During one session last week, we got an opportunity to know about the Khana Ghar by Parveen and I got so much inspiration that I offered my services for the same purpose for children in my area.
I am felt privileged that at my request team of Happy She Café visited my house and offered some financial support for the cause.
Success Story 2
Tehmina
My name is Tehmina, and I belongs to Balochi family, according to our traditions, I got married at a young age. I observe pardah and I am not an outgoing person but I love to mingle with females and chit chat sometime.
I really enjoyed the sessions are happening at Happy SHE Cafe and listening to them, I brought my daughter with me so that she too could listen to this conversation and that this expansion also develops in her mind and she also feels the responsibility of her neighborhood and street on herself as I did.
One good day, what I saw that there were some men in our street gambling on the ground I got shocked to see them but I did react because I was walking alone and it became a daily routine again.
If our men are away from home or city to earn money, then it becomes our responsibility to protect our street, that one of the lesson I learned at Happy She Café. So I called and then I asked some other women in the street to joined me, we went outside and shouted at the men and they ran away.
However, one day I heard some noises from the empty plot next to our house I went out and saw some men sitting there gambling. At first I wondered what had happened to the wall of our house. Our whole street environment will deteriorate and this will affect our young boys as well We have young girls; how will they go to school or college if all this goes on?
I threatened the owner of the plot to go to the police but he was unaware of what was happening on his vacant plot.
I am grateful to Happy SHE Cafe for showing me so much courage and fortitude.
